SF Inspirational Tour - Part I

Hippies' Paradise
I was lucky to visit San Francisco with one of my best friend Vincent Chen. We spent four days to see the city and enjoy the New Year celebration. Few things I want to share in this Blog are architectures, public environmental designs, and street arts.

Street View in general

First, the buildings in SF are quite like New York or Cities in Europe. You will see
lots of "Loft-style" apartments. Most of the architectures are old and few modernism buildings you can find. De Young Museum is a good one among them. This fine art museum's controversial background makes the design more interesting. The architects, Herzog and de Meuron ,who was awarded the 2001 Pritzker Prize.

The building was covered by coppers which is expected to oxidize and fit to the environment. It means we will see the texture and color changing in next years.

This is another interesting building in downtown SF which is the Gas and Electric Company.
Its appearance catches my eyes. Like a sensitive skin which reminds us a land-art artist -Christo and Jeanne-Claude's work.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude , land art artists. They used lots of fabric to create beautiful scenes. "Make the world more beautiful" is their only motivation.

Isn't it interesting?
